Set to open on Fish Lane in 2026, the Brisbane Portrait Gallery is a living portrait of our city.

An initiative of the Stockwell Foundation, the Brisbane Portrait Gallery (BPG) will amplify Queensland’s creative communities that shape our region. The space will be a venue and present events and exhibitions with a focus on portraiture.
As Brisbane grows toward 2032 and beyond, the BPG, through its exhibitions, will allow Brisbane to sees itself reflected and celebrated through the transformative power of portraiture.
The BPG is also a place for connection. As a venue, it creates opportunities for people from all walks of life to feel connected through conversations, gatherings, or the simple act of being present. It extends beyond the presentation of art to become a space where users can see aspects of themselves, their neighbours, and their city brought into focus.
